My second test for my Marriage and Family class was a take home test that had to be double spaced, typed up and at least 5-10 pages in length...not a big deal, I went over the 10 pages required for the test but when I went to print the stupid thing out I realized I was out of ink. Not only is ink REALLY expensive - I think I spent about $40 on a tri-color cartridge and black cartridge combo pack - but I always tend to forget what ink cartridges I need to get (the actual number on the cartridge) or even what kind of printer I have to look up what I need. Luckily, there are sites out there like Cartridge Finder that allows you to look up over 10,000 different models of printers, copiers, and fax machines so you know exactly what ink cartridge to get every time. This comes in handy for me since we have an older Lexmark printer and can't always find the cartridges needed in the stores - with this website, it gives a list of cartridges we can use with said printer and also checks PriceGrabber's merchant listings to find the best price on the product needed. Maybe next time I'll be able to find a better deal when it comes to ink!
I’m very frugal when it comes to my money and when it comes down to actually spending money, I love when an opportunity to save money presents itself. That's why I always look for the best deals and for sites that offer me the chance to save money - one of those sites is called UltimateCoupons.com who offers a wide variety of coupons for major retail stores and gives you the chance to save some extra cash! Not only that but over at their blog Everybody Loves Coupons, they are having an amazing contest where you can Win a Nintendo Wii but you only have until October 31st, 2007 to enter so you best hurry for your chance at this great prize!
I'm one of those people that is always afraid that one day when I go to turn the computer on it won't start or I'll my hard drive will fail for some reason causing me to lose an enormous music collection, photographs, graphics, website files and other important documents. However, I found an amazing place that offers up to 2GB worth of online backup space for FREE - it's called IDrive-E. Not only do they offer 2GB worth of space for free you can get unlimited backup space for as little as $4.95/month (or $49.95/year), which isn't a bad deal when it comes to having a secure and safe place for your important files. I will DEFINITELY be signing up for the free 2GB space IDrive-E offers, even if though it won't allow me to save all my music files at least I know my photography, graphic/website files and word documents will be safe from scary unknow black hole known as computer failure!

I'm not a big beer fan and have yet to actually find one that I can handle the taste of, however, my aunt and uncle drink beer quite frequently...okay, maybe just at major family events/cook outs; either way I think that they would love a Home Brewing Kits as a present. The easy to navigate site offers a selection of home brewing kits along with ingredients to make different brews as well as the equipment needed. Not only that, but they are giving a 10% discount to all new customers that order a kit via their site and if for any reason that you are not satisfied they offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I'm definitely bookmaking this website and keeping it in mind for a future present :)
Since I was a young child, I've always had a fascination with London, England; I'm not exactly sure why either...perhaps it's the vast lands or the magnificent looking architecture or just the culture itself that attracts me. Either way, I ended up doing a 10 page research paper on London when I was in grade school that I got an A on. Being 21 makes for a great experience as I'll be able to not only hit up the London bars if I ever make it to London, but also get to experience the culture that attracted me in the first place! The Trustedplaces website is great because it is full of places where one can eat, drink and hang out on their vacation and if you feel up to giving a review of a place you've visited you can do that on the website also. Like I said, I've always wanted to go to London and Trustedplaces will only make it easier when it comes to finding exciting activities to do.
Anyone that knows me knows I am not handy in the kitchen and really have no interest in learning, I'm not exactly sure why but I never got into the whole cooking thing...and at 21, there are only a select few meals that I know how to make that does not involve reading directions off a box. My mom, grandma and aunt have all tried to coax me into learning or trying to show me how to prepare certain meals, but I just stand there... uninterested.
However, I found a great website that offers a great variety of home-style crock pot recipes, which look rather delicious. I am a big fan of crock pot macaroni and cheese which my great grand mother makes and I love when my mom fixes beef stew in our crock pot, after looking through some of the recipes like the Creamy Chicken recipe, I must say I may have to give cooking another whirl! Sites like these that have easy to follow directions are great for someone who isn't really handy in the kitchen, so I'm glad I found this.
A few minutes ago I booted up my PC and almost cried because I thought my computer crashed...for some reason Windows was not booting up properly and was getting stuck on the loading screen; the first thought that went through my mind was, oh no my PC crashed and I just lost all my files, graphics, photography, music etc. However, that panic of ever losing files has been saved by Anytime@Anywhere online backup. With Anytime@Anywhere Backup, you are able to back up your most precious files: pictures, letters, emails, musics and video should you ever run into a problem with your computer that could cause you to lose them. They also offer business services in which they can backup sales records, customer/contact information, proposals, recivables and presentations. I am definitely going to check into Anytime@Anywhere and start backing up my files, the great thing about it is that an Express Plan for 10GB of backup space only costs $19.95/month, in my opinion that's a great deal!
Being a full-time college student, I know the importance of scholarships, loans and financial aid in general...higher education is not cheap and any money that will help pay for your tuition, books and room and board is much appreciated. Luckily, there are companies out there like Journyx who run scholarship programs to help those in need for financial assistance. Recently, they have produced a time tracking scholarship in which the winner will receive $500 USD to go towards their tuition, all that is required is that the participate write an essay of 1000 words or fewer about the two topics offered which deal with time tracking. Last year, Journyx ran the same program but only graduate students where allowed to participate, without much success they opened it up to undergraduate students this year. Journyx Announces 2ND Annual Excellence in Project Accounting Philosophy Essay Scholarship
One Student to Receive $500 USD Toward Tuition and FeesAUSTIN, TEXAS (Sept. 4, 2007) — Journyx – the first company to provide web-based time tracking and project accounting solutions that guide customers to per-person, per-project profitability – today launches the 2008 Excellence in Project Accounting Philosophy essay scholarship. The scholarship is open to full-time graduate and undergraduate college students at a university in the United States. The winning essayist will receive $500 USD toward college tuition and fees.
Interested students should contribute an essay of 1,000 words or less on one of the following two topics:
* Persuade someone who doesn't want to track his time on a per-product per-activity basis why it is in his best interests to do so.
* Describe a real situation that you've encountered where project oriented time tracking has made a positive difference in the world.Rocco Costa, a student at Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, Calif., was last year's scholarship winner.
"Tracking the time spent on products and activities throughout the workday has many applications, most importantly as a cost-saving instrument for business," says Costa. "If a person can measure productivity within a given period, they not only know how their time is spent, but also whether it is the best "value" for the company. Both businesses and employees gain from this since workers can establish if they are functioning efficiently, and businesses can determine their deadlines, profits and costs on an hourly, daily, and even yearly basis."
Complete rules and details, including how the essays will be scored, where to send the entries, etc. can be found at scholarship.journyx.com. The scholarship program will run until June 1, 2008.

With summer ending, that means we are all in for some much needed holiday cheer; first Halloween, then Thanksgiving and then the holiday everyone loves...Christmas! Around my house, Christmas can be some what a hectic time as everyone is scrambling to get family members gifts that are generally fairly pricey, heck my aunt and uncle are those people that are out at 5am the day after Thanksgiving just to check some savings from the sales!
However, there are other ways to save money when it comes to buying those gifts for the holidays aside from getting up at 5am in the morning to hit the stores and they come in the simple form of pormo codes. I am really hoping to get a laptop or a nice SLR digital camera this coming Christmas both of which are fairly pricey, however I found some get Best Buy Deals which could save whoever is buying me gifts over $100 off some of the things I want. There are also some great overstock.com coupons that have some great savings, I plan to shift through there and see what I can find after all I have the birthday of a boyfriend coming up soon too!
